Community Spotlight: Shining a light on The Phoenix Way

The Phoenix Way is a community-led initiative to improve socio-economic outcomes for Black and racially minoritised communities across the UK. This reflects The Ubele Initiative’s approach to community leadership, resilience, and systems change - rooted in lived experience, cultural intelligence, and collective renewal. It speaks to rising stronger through adversity, transforming challenge into insight, and rebuilding systems that are more inclusive and sustainable.

Abubaker Adam, Partnership Lead at VCS Emergencies Partnership, was honoured to attend The Ubele Initiative and The Phoenix Way event in Birmingham, learning more about the depth of community led work taking place, particularly across African and Black Diaspora communities.

The event event offered powerful insights into how communities organise, lead, and sustain resilience through culturally grounded practice. Read the highlights of the event here.
