Building resilience is an all-year-round job and most of it happens outside the emergency itself. We focus on enabling partners to prepare for and learn from emergencies.
During emergencies we have an additional remit to bring partners together, reminding them of good practice and lessons from past responses and making sure they’re more connected and coordinated in the moment. Sometimes we’re able to help partners fill gaps in support, other times we’re not needed - every emergency is different.
After emergencies we provide space for partners to debrief and reflect on what’s happened, leading into our overarching work building resilience across society.
